In a world overflowing with notifications and distractions, BASE and AdSomeNoise brought a moment of pure, simple fun back to life with BASE Pong. Inspired by the iconic game Pong, the activation allowed players to compete live online against friends or strangers, earning points for every ball they hit. Weekly top scorers won prizes like Samsung Galaxy smartphones, smartwatches, and House of Marley Bluetooth speakers. At its peak, the battles went beyond the screen: in City2 shopping center, players faced each other on a massive 22-meter DOOH display. With clever social mechanics like power-ups for inviting friends, BASE Pong combined nostalgia, interactivity, and community in one memorable brand experience.
The Challenge
BASE wanted to create a brand activation that cut through the digital noise and engaged a young, tech-savvy audience. Instead of chasing the latest AI gimmick or flashy digital trend, the challenge was to revive a simple, fun, competitive game that could work seamlessly online and offline, while delivering a tangible link to the brand.
Our Approach
AdSomeNoise designed BASE Pong, an online multiplayer activation playable on smartphones, tablets, and desktops. Players competed in weekly live matches, earning points for each ball returned. Clever social mechanics encouraged players to invite friends, granting temporary power-ups like bigger paddles, slower balls, or extra balls, adding strategy and virality to the experience.
To amplify the excitement, we brought BASE Pong offline with a massive 22-meter DOOH display at City2 shopping center, allowing players to face off in epic live battles. Prizes were awarded weekly, from Samsung Galaxy smartphones to smartwatches and Bluetooth speakers, keeping players motivated to return, compete, and share. The combination of online accessibility, social interactivity, and a high-impact physical arena created a memorable, multi-touch activation that resonated with BASE’s audience.
